Power to the pedal as new cycleway proposed linking Marylebone and SJW

TfL has been consulting with Westminster City Council for a new high-quality Cycleway connecting Marylebone and St John’s Wood with new crossings, protected cycle lanes and low-traffic streets. Cycleway 51 would also link to Lisson Grove and the Regent’s Canal and to the existing Cycleway 27 (East Acton to Walthamstow). Proposals include a two-way cycle track between Hamilton Terrace and Northwick Terrace. Changes to Harewood Avenue would see the removal of 82m of resident car parking as well as seven pay and park spaces. A longer bus lane in Marylebone Road would aim to make journey times towards Baker Street quicker. It is a high priority in Transport for London’s Strategic Cycling Analysis which shows where there is likely to be high demand for better cycling routes in this area of London.
