A trip to Hampstead Theatre is on the cards with two exciting new plays now booking. Following the hugely disappointing news that the 60-year-old theatre is to have its total Arts Council grant cut this year, now more than ever this local cultural institution is looking for support.
First up is a Hampstead Theatre World Premier Linck & Mulhahn (27 Jan- 4 March). Ruby Thomas’ epic modern love story is inspired by eighteenth century court records and the extraordinary true lives of a gender pioneering couple. Akedah runs from 10 Feb to 18 March and is set in a remote part of Northern Ireland where Gill returns to a place she once called home but is now the base of a slowing expanding mega-church called Harvest.
She’s on a mission to persuade her sister Kelly to leave her newfound family in the church but also wants to confront their mother over her abandonment and betrayal of her daughters.
