Work will start this month on the refurbishment of St Mark’s church hall in Hamilton Terrace following the devastating fire in January that gutted the church. Fundraising and the use of reserves will pay for the work, and it’s hoped that parishioners will be back worshipping soon. The church is planning to use the income from renting out the hall to pay for the rebuilding programme. Children's classes, marriage classes, comedy nights, a new wellbeing cafe and a paint and sit class will be available, and the Reverend Kate Harrison said: "We need that community hall to be a space for everyone. It will be amazing to have that space back and usable for the community. We want as many people as possible to use it."
